Biomimicry

Lesson Overview

For 3.8 billion years, life on Earth has addressed challenges such as disease, water purification, water storage, and carbon storage. Despite this, we have often overlooked the wisdom of nature in our designs. Biomimicry aims to change that by engineering sustainable solutions modeled after nature. In this lesson, students will explore the concept of biomimicry through various examples and create a plan for a product or technology inspired by the natural world.
