Pollinators

In this unit, students explore the lively world of bees, birds, butterflies, and beetles to discover how pollinators keep ecosystems thriving. They investigate the unique adaptations that make pollination possible, consider what might happen if pollinators disappeared, and explore actions people can take to protect them. Through creative writing, students imagine a day in the life of a pollinator, and in math, they examine the geometry behind honeycombs. The unit wraps with mixed media art that highlights each pollinator’s distinctive traits—bringing together science, problem-solving, and creativity in a meaningful way.
