This unit is all about water and how it moves around the planet! Students will follow the journey of a drop through evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and surface runoff, and learn how water changes between gaseous, liquid, and solid states. They’ll map the largest watershed in the Pacific Northwest, the Columbia River Basin, and travel the path water takes from their home to the ocean. Students will graph rainfall and analyze the measurements to see how precipitation differs across Oregon. With water as a muse, they’ll dive into creative writing and make works of art with blow painting.
